Tomorrow evening I will be heading up to Cape Cod to spend the holiday weekend with my family and there are only two words on my mind – sun and swim. After getting back in the pool over Memorial Day I am eager to swim laps outdoors again and when the exercise is over I will be worshiping the sun with proper SPF. Sure, sure, there will be family game nights, delicious food, and lots of laugh but sun and swim are on my mind. I will be brining one pieces from my old swimming days and bikinis to layout.
While packing it got me thinking of all of the strange bathing suits I have been seeing lately, suits that if you wore to the beach or the pool – or in the case of my friends and I, in the park or on your roof – you would have the weirdest tan lines. I didn’t think about making it a post until I saw an absolutely ridiculous one piece at Bloomgindale’s and thus, a blog post.
I was shocked at how many options there were – almost 100 suits that would give you weird tan lines but these are my favorites. All of the beach shots are from Victoria’s Secret and honestly, even Candice Swanepoel would have odd tan lines if she was in those suits for more than 15 minutes. Plus, if your body does not look like the South African bombshell’s (and whose does?) these suits would most likely not be flattering. Here are my top 17:

Putting together this collection I noticed two things – the first is that these pieces or suits tended to be more expensive than their “normal” counterparts and the majority were on sale – I wonder why!
Would you ever wear one of these?

That last black one from ASOS is too cute! I would have to get it despite the tan line issue. I haven’t committed to a one-piece yet

As much as i love these unique suits, I’d never wear them for fear of weird tan lines! I bought a one shoulder suit a couple years ago and I’ve never even worn it.

Cut outs are everywhere now! I love simple suits, these draw a little too much attention for my tastes. I love the teal/blue criss/cross top, but I know that would never work on my body. The tan lines would not bother me though, I’m crazy about sunscreen!!

You’re definitely right, these bathing suits would give you the strangest tan lines!!! I don’t think I would wear one of these for that reason.

A lot of them are cute, but the weird tan lines would drive me nuts!

That’s true! Although I think that maybe first black one (fourth photo) would be kind of a cool tan line! lol

I would dare to may be wear one of these. The red bikini at the top would be my choice. But only to lounge around by the pool bar sipping cocktails. I wouldn’t sunbathe in any one of them 🙂
