The post I wrote a few weeks ago, April Showers, was certainly true. After a very wet, and very chilly April I have am pleased to say we finally have May flowers. I showed one photo last week of tulips on the blog and another yesterday morning in the rain on Instagram but today I wanted to share a few all together. These photos are a complication of shot I have taken over the past few weeks on my iPhone. I purposely did not stop, align the shot, focus on the lighting, or get down to the correct angle. I wanted to show the flowers as they appear to a passerby. A bright pop of color of the sidewalk that never fails to make me smile:
I know there are plenty of places in New York – Central Park, The New York Botanical Garden, and Madison Square park to name a few – where I could go and take beautiful photos of flowers with no concrete or cracked sidewalks in the background, but that is not what I was going for. These are flowers I passed in my everyday life going to and from. And you know what? These flowers make me so happy. I am headed to Nashville this evening for a wedding but when I come back if the New York weather could match the springtime happiness of these flowers I would be very much obliged.
And in totally other news pretty soon I will be able to cross another item off my 101 in 1001 list – Sparkles and Shoes is moving to WordPress. I am working with the wonderful Lisette so this transition should be seamless but just in case, would you do two things for me? those flowers are so pretty! I remember when i went to Philly for my brother’s graduation and we walked through a park full of white tulips. It was gorgeous! I think that’s one reason why i love May so much!
