On Saturday my brother graduated from Georgetown University and I could not have been more proud. I had a great time at the black tie ball the night before and these photos were taken Saturday afternoon on the main circle of the Georgetown campus. The statue in the back is of John Carroll, the founder of the school, and a point of pride right inside the front gates. As a former tour guide I could go on and on about how he established the school in 1789 as a place for people of all faiths and all religions but I will skip over that part and say it was a breezy day but a wonderful Saturday for all of the graduates. Right after these photos were taken my family and I attended a graduation reception in the president’s office. No, not the POTUS but the President of the University who on Saturday might have been just as important as the diplomas he handed out where treated by some as more valuable than gold!

And then it was time for graduation. I have to say a big thank you to my mom, dad, and brother for sitting through mine two years ago. It was fun to watch and cheer for all of my friends walking across the stage and marvel at some of the 300-odd students in the business school that somehow I had not seen in the previous four years, but this year, it was brutal. Family is everything to me though so I was happy to sit and stand and clap and pray all just to watch my brother walk across that stage. A hard earned diploma I know he will cherish for years.
This shot of my brother with my parents is one of my favorites and will definitely be framed shortly!

Congratulations to my brother on graduating and thanks D.C. weather for cooperating!
