With snow showers expected for this morning I can not help think of warmer climates. Setting the clocks back an hour has made the days so much shorter and the quick onset of cold weather has not helped. Instead of complaining about the cold I am going to turn my focus to somewhere I would rather be – the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
The Barrier Reef has been on my bucket list ever since I became a certified scuba diver. The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park covers 214,000 square miles in area off the North Western coast of Australia. It includes the world’s largest coral reef ecosystem includes some 3,000 coral reefs, 600 continental islands, 300 coral cays and about 150 inshore mangrove islands.
While it’s known mostly for its large maze of colorful reefs, its intricate architecture also provides a home for a huge number of plants and animals. There are so many unique kinds of fish i would love to see, plus it is 80 degrees and mostly sunny today in Queensland, Australia.
