If you saw on Instagram a few weeks ago I mentioned my trip to Bournemouth Beach and remarked that in addition to all of my international travels that I really do need to plan more trips within the United Kingdom. The Cotswolds and the Lake District are on the top of that list but I also want to go back to Scotland – my visit last year was too short!
You may recall I already posted about Edinburgh Castle but I wanted to share with out another of the cities highlights. I often find that the top rate tourist attraction in a city can be over rate and over hyped but Arthur’s Seat was truly great. Until a few years ago my parent’s would have laughed at you if you had told them their daughter voluntarily went on a hike but now that I sit in an office all day sometimes a few hours in nature can be a great reprieve.
Located in Holyrood Park Arthur’s Seat is the main peak and on my first day in Edinburgh we decided to head up to peak as the weather was going to be the nicest. There are quite a few ways up the mountain from serious hikes to one on a well trodden path.

Those old ruins get me every time. I can’t even imagine how they built all those stone buildings so long ago.
Beautiful countryside across the pond. Glad you are getting to explore so many great sights.

I can’t believe you how I feel that way in those boots. You look like a fashion model as always while you’re traveling.
It’s a fantastic vantage point

What beautiful country that is. Makes you feel like you’re in a movie set. The views are fantastic.
