Thursday Trend: Jorts (Jean Shorts)

Hate on them all you want, but they are not going away.  JORTS. Everybody. Who wears jort jorts? Celebs wear jort jorts. In fact, who doesn’t love the winning combination of jeans and shorts? So in anticipation of the fast-approaching jort season we thought it best to celebrate the return of the denim short in the most appropriate manner possible, but first, Kate.   Kate Bosworth is gorgeous and I have had a crush on her for the past decade, ever sine Blue Crush came out. (Can you believe it was 11 years ago?).   Kate is the epitome of classic California rocker, grunge, chic.  I bet she has more pairs of jorts than I l have LBD’s, which is saying a lot:

While Kate is gorgeous, the vast majority of people do not have a body like hers, and this look may not be quite as appropriate if you do not have matchstick legs.  Take a que from these celebs, jorts are best paired with a casual long sleeve top and a great pair of sunglasses. For the first time in my twenty-six Thursday Trends I was NOT going to give you suggestions of jorts to buy.  I figured they were definitely something you have in your closet or made years ago from an old pair of jeans, but then, I decided against it.   However, I am only going to give three recommendations and these jorts are as “classy” as I can recommend, three cuffed versions, in light, medium, and dark:

    I don’t think of these as jorts. They’re jean shorts or just shorts to me. Now, when men wear them…. those are jorts and they’re an abomination!

    i think those woman can definitely pull them off! 🙂 kate is beautiful! i do like jean shorts but can’t wear them too short because of my thighs! but if my legs were tiny like there’s i think i would! 🙂

    I actually just bought jean shorts this year! I like how they look. I’m not usually a shorts person and have been wearing long mens’ shorts the past few summers!

    I love jean shorts–they’re pretty much all I wear on weekends! And I totally agree, Kate has the style nailed!

    I love jorts. I’ve never heard of them being called that but I’ve worn them for years. I have a favorite pair that always gets paired with a cute top in summer when I’m going out, especially if there will be lots of dancing.
