12 Days of Christmas: Wrapping Presents

12/09/12 | 12 Days of Christmas, presents

While I really love buying other people presents (see my gift guides here, here, and here) wrapping them can be almost as fun.  The major things I consider when deciding how to wrap a gift is whether it has to be shipped, the size of the item, how fragile it is and and how to throw off the recipient. If this last point seems mean let me explain,  I was six when I learned how to curl ribbon, and seven when I learned that if you are giving something a little presents, such as a gift certificates or tickets to a show putting a box within a box within a box with a book in it turns into something the size of a microwave and heavy making it VERY difficult to guess.  Today is the 9th day of  my  12 Days of Christmas and I love wrapping presents in red and green, yay for Christmas!

This year my first round of Christmas wrapping went well but I have at least that many presents still to buy,
 here’s to shopping!

I have mentioned before but I am taking part in the 12 days of Christmas holiday swap. hosted by the lovely ladies at Chaotic Goodness Swaps.   Now I know for the past 8 days I have been listing my favorite things about the holiday season but this is a bit different.  You get paired up with another blogger and you send them a box of 12 gifts individually wrapped totaling $30-$40 dollars.  Without giving it away I had a ton of fun over Thanksgiving shopping for holiday themed gifts for my partner.  I decided to label the gifts days one through twelve in the order I want my partner to open the presents, starting with Day One on December 14th and the final present on Christmas! As you can see I used all different sorts of material to wrap the presents and while it might seem haphazard I think it is fun, unique, and definitely not store bought!

Do you like wrapping presents? Is it a tradition for you?

You did a great job of wrapping! I’m sure she’s going to love them…unwrapping gifts is all part of the fun! 🙂
We’re glad you could join us at Chaotic Goddess Swaps for this one…everyone gets to start unwrapping on Dec 13th, so it’s continual gifties up until Christmas. I can’t believe we didn’t think of it sooner! 😀

I spend so much time choosing the wrapping paper – pretty much as much as choosing the gifts. 🙂 And what a nice idea about opening a pressie a day before Christmas. Might adopt this one. 🙂
