12 Days of Christmas: Deck the Halls

Around my house we have things that make me know that it is Christmas besides the tree (here)  and stockings (here) – every year at my parent’s we have The Chresh and Poinsettas.  (These photos are from my house last year as I have not gone home for Christmas yet).  

I love decorating for Christmas and there are so many more great ways to deck your halls for the holidays and this post is the 10th of 12 as part of my 12 Days of Christmas.  In college, unfortunately, I did not really have the opportunity to decorate because as soon as December rolled around that meant it was time for finals so this year I was super excited to decorate for the holidays. This year my roommate, who is Jewish, was very understanding when I wanted to completely decorate our apartment for Christmas and even helped me pick out things at Target.  

And finally, our Christmas tree! I did a whole post last week about how my family decorates our Christmas tree (here) but this was the first time in twenty-something years where I was all on my own.  Honestly, I did not even know how to go about buying and decorating my tree, but I am excited with ow it turned out, even better with the presents under it!   It is only four feet tall but it really does add a great element to our small apartment!

How do you decorate for the holidays?  Any special things besides stockings and trees?
