Wellies!

It’s Friday and that means shoes!!  Unless you have not read my blog, not listened to the news,  not Googled current events, not looked a newspaper,or you do not have friends on the East Coast you know that my city has been hit extremely hard by Hurricane Sandy.  As it is Friday, I was planning on talking about my favorite pair of metallic snakeskin heels but based on the weather, I am going to switch it up.  For the past week I have LIVED in my black patent classic Hunter Wellington rain boots and they have been amazing.

While the water has receded from where I live rain boots are still necessary to traverse the sodden ground in lower Manhattan.  You can see from some of the photos I took from the storm in my Hurricane Sandy album on Facebook. And even though I have been known to frequently rock a black on black on black look, after a week of the same boots I am on the hunt for a pair that are more colorful and with more detail.  These are some of my favorites:

    If it rained in LA, I would be wearing wellies all the time!! LOve the burberry ones the best! Such a cute collection– the photo of the little girl is to die for precious!!!

    Did you weather the storm okay? My girlfriend is still without heat and wearing her fur vest in the day and 3 down comforters at nite! Stay warm–my thoughts are with you and hope you can have a patient and positive outlook!

    Oooh I actually really like those Chooka ones. Hunter wellies usually get all the attention but there are some really cute alternatives out there. I’m loving the new Moschino ones. I should go rescue my Marc Jacobs wellies form the depths of a dusty old storage box.

    Awww, looking at this blog post is bittersweet! Love rain boots… I used to own the Burberry ones actually. That is, untill they were accidentally left outside in a box for over a year (couldn’t find them anywhere). Well, the elements got to them and when I finally found the…. they were faded and ruined. Sad story…

    I have the light pink Burberry rain boots and love them! I really get more use out of them than I thought I would. I love them too because they don’t ever go out of style. I’m thinking about buying a solid color of Hunter boots, but is it really necessary to have 2 pairs of rain boots? lol
