This Summer it is getting so incredible hot, holy heck! We definitely skipped right to heatwave season and I have to say this is one season in which girls have an advantage – we can wear lightweight dresses and short shorts when the temperatures skyrocket. This weekend in New York City I saw so many girls running errands, brunching, or just generally enjoying life in short denim shorts and decided to do a wrap up on them! And no, I did not stop and take a picture of any of them (that would be weird) but to give you a sense many looked like one of my favorite bloggers, Emily of The Sweetest Thing, seen above!
Personally I prefer my denim shorts in a dark wash, with no frayed edges, and with the pickets definitely being shorter than the hem of the shorts but that is just my personal preference (and proof that my style definitely has changed since I studied abroad). I love wearing short denim shorts with a belly shirt paired with either flip-flops or wedge sandals. Boyfriend can’t keep his hands off my butt when I where booty shorts (that is my name for short denim shorts). I wore this last Sunday 7/16 to Rockaway beach and every guy was looking at me from the ferry ride in Sunset Park to Rockaway. One perv even flashed his erect wee wee to me on boardwalk when boyfriend was coming out of the bathroom. Boyfriend and his friends decked this creep and police took him away. Happened to me before last time at Belmar with a bunch of other girls some jerk did the same thing. I had handcuffs. Bachelorette party. I played along and cuffed his ass to the railing and left him there for the police to take away. Speaking of NYC ferry have you sailed this yet.
