Halloween Costume Dilemma …. SOLVED

Halloween is now a week away but in New York City the big night to celebrate it is this Saturday.  I am going to a big night-time event and I had to find, build, buy, or make a costume that was fitting.

This year, my first Halloween out of university, I had a great dilemma about what to be and after much deliberation I have decided I am going to be Honey Boo Boo for Halloween! Alana Thompson was one of my favorite reality TV stars this past summer and I loved her show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” on TLC.   The show was much more about the dynamic of her crazy family then about her participation in beauty pageants but it was still a portion of the show.  And I love how according to many news sources, including CNBC, this is going to be one of the trendiest costumes of 2012.

My other four options were a ballerina, Missy Piggy, a housewife and a spy:
What do you think of my choice?  Would you have picked something else (notice the pink theme)?
And now the real question – what do I wear for shoes?!?

    Please, please, please go as Honey Boo Boo!!! I´m watching the show now and I can´t help but love that familly…and be a little gross out about them to be honest!
    It´s a great costume!! I´d love to go as Alana this halloween but I´m from Spain and nobody knows who Alana is so it would be a little awkard! haha

    Oh I LOVE that you’re going as Honey Boo Boo!!! If I dress up, I’m totally being a toddlers and tiaras contestant (maybe Makenzie with the nini). Excellent choice Kelly. Maybe you should roll around in the mud or bring a rebel flag for some extra Honey Boo Boo-ness πŸ˜‰

    It’s my first halloween out of uni too, but I have no costume!! Yours looks really cute! I would choose ballerina, only because I’ve danced my whole life so I would have quite a bit of old costumes to work from πŸ™‚

    These are such cute ideas! I was actually thinking about being Honey Boo Boo as well, but I think I’m going to ditch the idea simply because I’ve procrastinated and don’t have all the pieces together yet!

    Honey Boo Boo will be an awesome contest – so hilarious. As for shoes, that’s a little tricky – maybe some sort of while pumps? I feel like in her pageant gear it’s usually some sort of patent white shoe.
