October was a busy one, but then again, when is life with two toddlers ever quiet? This month, I made a conscious effort to focus on something that often falls to the bottom of my to-do list: my own health.
I am very pro-doctor and pro-medicine, but before adding more prescriptions or injections into the mix, I wanted to see what getting back to basics could do. Consistent exercise, better nutrition, physical therapy, and some good old-fashioned remedies. And you know what? It’s actually working!
I love a good list, so here is October by the numbers:
- 16 Solidcore classes – My favorite way to challenge myself, build strength, and carve out 50 minutes that are entirely mine (check out my IG post for some of the videos!)
- 11 protein-focused dinners – A combination of Factor meals and Chops, making healthy eating a little easier on busy evenings.
- 8 chiropractor appointments – Working on feeling better and addressing some of those aches and pains
- 3 physical therapy sessions – Because building strength also means addressing the things that aren’t working quite right.
- 2 sports massages – A little recovery and maintenance, which my body definitely appreciated!
Of course, prioritizing my health didn’t mean everything else stopped. Far from it!

October also included taking care of sick babies, juggling multiple side hustles, and continuing the never-ending process of making our Charlotte house a home. From furniture projects to electrical rewiring (🙄), there is always something that needs attention.
We also squeezed in birthday celebrations, girls’ nights, quality time with my husband, family adventures, and all the Halloween festivities that come with having two toddlers. Not to mention the approximately 737,518,294 other things moms somehow manage to accomplish!
The biggest takeaway from this month?Prioritizing health as a busy mom doesn’t require a perfectly balanced schedule It just requires making the decision to show up for yourself, even when life is chaotic.
I’m not aiming for perfection, and I certainly haven’t figured out the magic formula for balancing everything. But I’m feeling stronger, healthier, and a little more like myself.
And that feels like a pretty big win.
Here’s to carrying that momentum into November and stay tuned for another life update! ❤️
