We are officially a week into December, how did that happen? I know that’s what the calendar says but it is crazy to think Christmas is less than three weeks away – eek! The Sparkles & Shoes holiday gift guides are underway
It seems like gets started on their fitness goals at the start of the New Year but I am getting a jump start. One of the head Peloton trainers has kicked off the 3 for 31 challenge – move for 30 minutes a day for all 31 days of December. Every day, her challenge says, you need to 3 miles on foot, or 30 minutes on the bike. When thinking to my COVID fitness routine that would have been no problem at all but in my postpartum fitness era things are a bit different.

With one week down, here is the status of my 3for31 Fitness Challenge:
December 1st: 45 minute Pilates class (plus 3.6 miles walking)
December 2nd: 6.6 miles walking
December 3rd: 3.5 miles walking
December 4th: 45 minute Pilates class (plus 7.9 miles walking)
December 5th: 4.9 miles walking
December 6th: 45 minute Pilates class (plus 6.8 miles walking)
December 7th: 5 miles walking
One week and 38 miles down? I would say I am off to a pretty good start and now the challenge is to keep it up and it is half the reason behind this post, the accountability. As the weather gets colder and more miserable I know it will be hard but round trip to Lily’s nursery – if I am working from home – is 1.3 miles return and if I am doing both pickup and drop off, that is almost my three miles right there!
In addition I know it will be particularly difficult when we are up in Derbyshire over Christmas without access to a gym or anywhere good to walk but I am going to do my very best to still make it happen. I will be updating some of my workouts on Strava and if I make it, I will do a formal update in January – stay tuned!
Would you do the 3for31 Fitness Challenge?

As a fellow Peloton biker this is an awesome challenge, I got a 5 day late start because I on vacation too in Florida visiting my family. No Peloton there. Boo woo. I was just further north in Tavares (Lake County) Florida which is north or Orlando. At home I call it boondock aka out of way part of Florida. t was chilly. I only got into the outdoor pool three times and it was day 1 which was 11/21, day 11 & 12 which was 12/1 & 12/2. Other times was the indoor pool only. At times it was too cold for dresses and heels, I had to go for the jacket, jeans & sneakers. Weird weather there. Mom is sick and I will have to be there more often even without boyfriend. My family there is not always responsive or understating of my mom. She is starting to lose it mentally. Since 12/5 I spent 45 minutes a day on the bike (15 more than the challenge) and averaged 4 miles walking a day as long as its not raining. Yesterday rain-no walk, Just bike. Rain = automatic stay home because of health reasons. Seems like every time I go out in rain I get the flu. No doubt you will rock this challenge.

What a fabulous idea. I will have to try it sometime. If I can look half as good as you do, I’m on board. Good luck.
