One Month of Henry

Little man, stop growing so fast! I feel like it was only yesterday I was writing his birth announcement and it’s already time for this monthly update. You may remember in 2023 and into 2024. I did monthly updates for Lily‘s first year of life and plan to do the same for Henry for our. If you have been following for a while you will know he is our second baby at home and it is so hard not to compare every little moment.  Looking back to this post from April 2023 of Lily’s first month there are many similarities but also a handful of differences. One month since we welcomed Henry James to the world recap the first 31 days with our little love:

Nicknames:  Baby Bear, Big Boy, Little Man

Firsts: Nearly everything!  But the milestones based on the prompts in his baby book – met friends and family, had his first bath, did his first photoshoot and much, much more!

Weight:  8lbs 12oz, such a big jump from his birth weight and the pediatrician says he is doing a great job – yay!

Length: 20.5 inches. As the doctor told me on Monday, this one is super tricky as it depends how much they scrunch and how much the providers stretches them but again, the doctor was happy so I am happy.

Teeth:  Henry has 0 teeth.

Loves: Eating, being cuddled, playing with his hands, looking at his black and white cards, and sleeping during the day (but not as much at night)

Hates:  Waking up hungry, being changed (especially being cold) and when we try to swaddle him though this is getting better. Overall we are lucky and he is a happy baby.

In general, life is quite busy right now not only with two little under two but lots of other big changes for our family. I’ll be sure to share more in the coming weeks though you may have noticed, both the blog and social media are no longer daily occurrences. However, if you want to see more Henry I have been sharing the occasional snap on Instagram and my favorites are saved in the “Henry James” highlights!
