After six years living in England I am on one way flight back to the United States, eek! This move been in the works for months, in fact years, and today is the day. Goodbye London! Why I have I not mentioned this until today? There are many, many reasons but to put it simply, I have been busy.
To put it into context I used to post on Sparkles and Shoes six days a week. Then after a few years, dropped down to five times – every weekend. In the last year, it has been more like a few times a month rather than a few a week. The same thing applies to social media – I used to be obsessed with my Instagram grid, on one day posting a photo of me and the next, a non-me photo, and it was like this for years. Now? I can not remember the last time I posted 10 times in a single month and I go days at a time without even posting on stories.
Being a mum is tricky and priorities shift, however, I often miss Sparkles and Shoes. The thing most people don’t understand, posting takes a TON of time to pout together, even if it is just a fashion collage. But now let’s get back on topic:
Goodbye London and hello Upper West East Siders! After university I lived in a handful of New York City neighbourhoods – Stuytown, Greenpoint, and the Upper East Side – but once we land my next chapter will start in a new area of the city, the Upper West Side. I am excited to begin this next CHAPTER of my life with Lily and Mark and experience the city in a whole new way – a single girl in my 20’s is very different then a working mum in my 30’s.
Stay tuned for what’s next and until then, let me know if you have any questions in the comments!

Welcome back to New York. No doubt that you will succeed here just like you did in your 20’s. I know being a mom and working takes a lot of time away from social media and the blog. Too bad I don’t see as many but family is more important than anything. I guess your job sent you back. How does citizenship work for Mark and Lily. At least Summers are better here than London but winters not so much. Lily will enjoy Central Park for sure.

Six years really flew by as a long time reader of your blog. So many adventures and travels you have shared with us loyal followers.
Looking forward to your next chapter. I can’t imaging how much work it is but we appreciate you.

Such big news and I’m sure you’re going to be thrilled to be back in New York City. Always so much fun stuff going on and I’m sure it’s wonderful to be closer to your family.
Good luck with the move and I hope your husband is going to enjoy living in America. I know it’s going to be a big adjustment for him as well. He can probably now appreciate you coming to live in London all by yourself. He also has you as his tour guide.

Wow, congratulations on the HUGE move. I can’t even imagine moving with a baby and all the newness.
What has been the hardest part?
Welcome Back.
