Twelve months. 366 days (hello leap year). And at the time of publishing just over 8789 hours. That’s how long my little girl has been a part of our family. I have considered her a part since I first learned about my pregnancy but that is how long she has been on the outside. Lily Harper lights up my world and it was so much fun celebrating her first birthday the past few days.
We only moved from the UK a few days ago so we are in a bit of an odd transition period but Mark took off work and we spent the day as a family. At lunch time in New York it was dinner time in New York and we Facetimed with our family in the England for her first birthday after a lunch of scrambled eggs and strawberries. (Pictured are some of her favorite eating items including her high chair and bib)
Bib | BIBaDO Long Sleeve Baby Bibs in Unicorn Print
High Chair | Stokke Tripp Trapp®
Party Banner | Girls’ 1st Birthday Boho Banner in Pink & Rose Gold

Later on March 28th we spoke to Lily’s US grandparents and ended the day with an Upper East Side in-person celebration with my sister-in-law. It was certainly a day of more sugar than Lily has ever had but if there is any time to do so, your first birthday is one of them. The rest of the week we had a few trial days at Lily’s new daycare that she starts full time next week plus Lily’s fist visit to the Central Park Zoo. As people asked when I posted on Instagram outfits for the evening (Lily dress, Lily bib) and from the Zoo here is Lily’s coat and my coat.
She got so many great presents and in addition to toys we requested two year long experiences and are now members of both the WCS Zoos (the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo) and the American Museum of Natural History.
It is too long to include here but a few weeks after Lily was born Mark and I decided to create a video of one second everyday to capture Lily’s growth and core moments. The video is just over six minutes and I have watched it more times than I can count. This little girl has grown SO much and I can not wait for what is next!
In the comments please leave any first birthday wishes you have for Lily!
