London has so many amazing museums and after nearly six years of living here it is still incredible to me that so many are free! These are the most historical art galleries though, immersive experiences like Van Gogh and pop up museums like the Bubble Planet do charge and on Saturday we visited a new one, The Balloon Museum.
Friends from up North had a weekend planned in London and invited us to join them to explored this fun building of monumental installations. They also have a daughter who is close to Lily’s age so it was a great family day out. The first exhibit started of the outside of the building, located in the Old Billingsgate on the River Thames, and then we explored more than a dozen makeshift spaces over three floors. Take a look:

I enjoyed the Synchronized Chaos Room by Miranda Makaroff and Lily could not stop looking around!
To be honest, I found the giant bunnies in the Somehow, I Don’t Feel Comfortable exhibit by Momoyo Torimitsu a bit creepy.

My favorite room was the same as the five and seven year old we were with – the ball pit! We timed our visit well and only had to wait a few moments until we were admitted to the room which housed a pool of TWO MILLION balls. I was over the moon excited and after donning the blue booties, literally jumped right in. Mark was carrying Lily but was still able to take photos for me in this ball pit which is officially called ‘Hyperfeeling’.
This post is not sponsored, we all paid full price for our tickets to the Balloon Museum but had such a great time we wanted to share! You will see when you click on the link that tickets are pricey –
Would you want to visit the Balloon Museum?

I just sent this to my girlfriend who is headed over in two months with her kids. I’ve never heard of this and it would be so much fun to do with kids. She reminds me a lot of you and I think she would jump into the ball pit too.
. London has the best museums.

Oh my gosh, London has the best museums. What will they think of next. I definitely would want to go and I would want to jump into that pool of balls. People are so clever.
