Remember when I had abs? Yeah, me too. I was surprised how quickly my pregnancy weight came off in the first week. It was quite encouraging but between 4 and 16 weeks even as I ramped up the exercise the scale HAS NOT moved. And that is insanely frustrating. I waited until my six week checkup to start working out and then I have started to get back into it slowly. Instead of crazy HIIT classes I started favoring pilates and in the last few weeks, a post-natal fitness class at a local gym.
Given how much I was able to workout during COIVD I figured that even with a baby I would be able to get a good sweat in every day without working. Well that was a big, big joke. Being a Mom makes a full time job look like a walk in the park and by the time the baby goes to sleep the exhaustion is not only physical, it is mental. Mark has been great on weekends watching Lily for an hour or two while I am able to go to the gym but once or twice a week for me is not going to cut it. Thus I am trying to go to workout classes WITH Lily and get some momentum with a schedule.
In looking back at the past few months I have also realized we have travelled alot and similarly, before baby I struggled with eating healthy while on the go every day. I have now started taking Grenade’s OREO Protein Bars (21g protein, just 1g of sugar) with me on a day out and in the month of August, hope I can really get back into a routine. The biggest thing for me is nto physical though, I want to feel good in my body because I know that will make me a happier person and thus, a better Mom.
Do you have any postpartum fitness tips?

My girlfriends daughter just had a baby and is finding it challenging to get into any kind of routine never mind finding the time to excercie.
You are not alone and trust me it all works out in the end. Just focus on those precious moments with your little one.

You are doing great getting whatever exercise you can. I know you may have a little added weight but look at that little sweetie you have to show for it!!! Just continue to enjoy her and time and your programs will get you where you want to be.

You look perfect…your health and spending time with your precious bundle of joy is your number one priority.
We all do the best we can and have to stop being so hard on yourself and you will get there. You are an amazing role model for new moms.
You go girl.

It must be so hard to squeeze in pops of exercise when you don’t have full chunks of time to dedicate to a work out.
My friend would set a timer and do push ups and chair dips ever hour of so for her arms and then some wall squats. She also would do planks and crunches when her baby was on the floor and try to sing songs…it was pretty funny to watch but she improvised.
Good luck and you look great!

Dear Kelly. You still look great. Give it some time and before you know it you will be back to your pre pregnancy fitness. I see you bring the baby to your workouts. That is so awesome. My younger sister is going through the same thing right now. Boyfriend and I had a great bike ride 10 mile workout Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday and Saturday was even more fun due to the heat wave here. Legs today feel like jello for me. For him no effect.
