Hola desse España, hello from Spain! It’s the last few days of our holiday and while I plan on sharing more welcome to the latest post in my Really Love My … series. It may come as a surprise to some that I am sharing a piece that is both long sleeve and a deep navy color but this is dark floral dress is one that I wear year round.
When I bought this dress nearly 10 years ago at Ann Taylor in New York City as part of my “professional” wardrobe I had no idea how many things would change. The biggest, and it makes me laugh now, is that besides the first year out of university I’ve never had a job where a business professional wardrobe is required. That said, have a nice go-to pieces in your closet – especially dresses – make mornings a lot easier. I feel it is always good to be on the dresser side of any room whether that is a cocktail party or a business meeting.
In the last decade this dress has been around the world but since it is more of a work piece I had far less photos of it then I thought. You can take a look at some of the ways I want it and I put captions as to where the photos were taken:
at a business lunch in Seattle
work from home selfies in London during COVID
Post-work theater evening in the West End
with my brother on Park Avenue in Manhattan
at the Google offices in Boston, Massachusetts
en route to a London business meeting
At an art gallery opening in Stratford
As you can see this dark floral dress pairs quite well with flats or heels for warmer weather or ankle boots and tights for those colder months.
What do you think of the dress?

You do make it an all weather dress based on leg coverings and coats. I don’t have too many dresses that are as versital as this one plus you can dress it up and down.
Good choice and it fits you really well too.

I like it and really like seeing all the way that you styled it.
Some you pick up the burgandy while others focus on the ivory and the layering too gives one a whole other persepective so no one would notice that you have worn it before.
Good job.

Lovely dress. Can be used any season for work or social events. I have a few all season dresses and they are among my favorites. Last week I wore a mid sleeve lighter floral dress to a work event with a killer heel and everyone loved it. Good news no covid and I am starting to feel better from the flu. I sweated it out the last few days and took in some mid day sun to really sweat it out on my rooftop. Now boyfriend caught a variation of my flu. I am more mad than he is. Another couple of days this will be a bad memory.
