Welcome to the start of a new week1! Friday’s post was published en route to Paris and this I am writing Sunday evening on the way back. Not enough time but happy to report the caption on this post was accurate. “ You can’t dull my sparkle ✨ A crazy week of work and wedding planning plus a forecast of rain could be a bit of a damper but I am DETERMINED to have an amazing weekend in Paris!”. We took the Eurostar train from the center of London to the center of Paris on Friday night after work and came back on Sunday. 48-hours was not enough but two days in the city of love can still be magical. Here are some of my favortie photos from the weekend with a blurb about them:
The Parisian Lock Bridge, the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor
In the main hall of the Musee D’Orsay
The View of Sacre Coeur Basilica from Clock in the Musee D’Orsay
Selfie with the Van Gogh self-portrait
Notre Dame Cathedral under restoration after the Arpil 2019 Fire
The gorgeous balconies of Paris’s iconic Art Nouveau department store La Samaritaine
The Arc de Triomphe, Wrapped. Yes, this is one of the world’s most famous arches but for two weeks, ending October 3rd, it’s covered in 270,000 square feet of silvery blue fabric which on this rainy weekend creates a grey-on-grey effect. While I love the art in this city this piece is not my favorite but I came, and I saw. You can see a cool time lapse here.
The Eiffel Tower from the Pont Alexandre III Bridge
The Louvre Pyramid (Pyramide du Louvre) from Inside the Museum
Is she smiling? Due to the popularity and COVID there was a winding queue of nearly one hundred people in front of the Mona Lisa at the Louvre so we took it in from the side – no wait at all!
The Grand Salon of the Napoleon III Apartments inside the the Louvre Museum
Eiffel Tower from the Trocadéro Gardens
Which is your favorite postcard from Paris?

Like your skirt in the photo too.

You look fantastic in the photo in the museum your smile is infections and everyone would know how much in love you are with Mark and Paris.
Have you ever thought of living there? I have toyed with it a few times. Wouldn’t want to make it forever but a year or so would be perfect for me.
Nice you are just a train ride away though.

The Muse D’Orsay is always my favorite and the photo you have of the clock from inside is so iconic and I love when I see it in movies and go, “I’ve been there”.
Hope Mark liked Paris as much as you do. What was his favorite thing he saw, so many choices?
TAMMY says
Glad you and Mark had a great weekend in Paris. Too bad it was only a short trip. My favorite post card would be the last one Eyeful Tower. Mask pictures are my least favorite. The covid era is one to forget about.

I adore Paris and you were so luck to be there when the Arc was wrapped.
I love most of the work those artists do but really, I would have picked a more vibrant color, what about a strong lavender or a pop of pink, gray, really, how dreary especially on a dreary weather day such as yours.
Loved the time lapse look at it thanks!

Such a romantic city.
I have hinted many times that I hope my boyfriend pops the question in Paris.
You are two for two my dear.
