Tonya Malay Photography | Naples Wedding Photographer
In six months I will be waking up in Naples, Florida with my husband (eek, that will be so much fun to say) and heading off to brunch the day after my wedding. Six months from today I will be married. Eek. I hope that my photos are half as stunning as the photos from my wedding photographer, Tonya Malay, one of which is featured above. As you can imagine I am in full swing wedding planning I have read more articles than I care to count I have read that a typical engagement 13 months but nearly 20% of couples s plan their weddings in six months or less, crazy!
I have mentioned it before but I have been using the Wedding Planning Checklist on The Knot and to date I have completed 85 of the 168 items which is on nearly track with six months until the big day. To be honest, I thought I was completely up to date but there are apparently a number of items are past due choosing your wedding party, having your partner buy their attire, saving cake photos, and reesearching videographers. The first two are action items that are certainly not on me – Mark needs to confirm his groomsman (the bridal party is sorted) and what he is going to wear (between tails, tux, and dark suit). The cake one is a good shout though – I am going to meet with the baker over Christmas and definitely need inspiration photos, definitely on my list of things to do this weekend now!
Besides these four overdue items I took a look at the tasks that are listed as upcoming. Here are the eight items that we are supposed to cross of before the end of the year:
- Confirm the wedding officiant
- List potential honeymoon options
- Book the honeymoon (flights and hotels)
- Get premarital counseling
- Choose wedding party attire
- Order your invitationsNotes
- Save wedding ring inspiration
- Make a transportation plan
An interesting assortment of things to do across the wedding spectrum but definitely a fun list to get started on since the United Kingdom is in full lockdown for the rest of the month! The two items that did not make the list above because I am still on the fence about – do we want a videographer and do we want a photo booth?
Is there anything you think I am missing on my six month wedding countdown?

Can’t wait to see your photos from the big day. Lots of planning goes into it and I hope for you that it is as magical as you hope for.
You certainly will be a very pretty bride.

Looks like you have gotten a lot done already.
It is amazing how many things there are to do and you want to give it your own personal touches. I love photos of the bride and groom at different stages of their lives and old wedding photos of grand parents and parents around.
You must be really organized to work full time and have such a wonderful blog that I am sure you are going to have a perfect wedding.

If I were you I would get the photo booth (they are so much fun and give you much more candid wedding photos from your friends and family) but skip the videographer – I never watch my wedding video!

Wow, even with lockdown you have been crossing so many things off the check list – do you have your dress yet? I am sure it is or will be gorgeous.
