Today is my dad’s birthday but instead of the traditional birthday hommage, I am going to do something a bit different. I am going to share something in the future I want to do with my dad, a Father-Daughter First Look. In case you are not familiar, a “first look” is when a the bride and groom see each other on their wedding day before their wedding ceremony.
I still have not decided if Mark and I are going to do one but after seeing dozens of gorgeous shots on Pinterest I have decided I want to do a first look with my Dad. It will be his first time seeing me in a wedding dress and even though my Dad is typically not very emotional I think this moment will be really special even if he does not cry or freak out like some of the dads below. And the best part? By the time my dad’s birthday rolls around next year I will get to share some of those photos to help celebrate his birthday!

I think all of these photos are special in their own way and it is a great way to get your dad excited about your wedding day before he needs to walk you down the isle with dozens of people watching your every step. Happy Birthday Bubby, and I am excited to take a first look photo with you next Spring!
If you have gotten married recently,
have you taken Father Daughter First Look photos?
These are great. I highly suggest a first look, it’s a really special moment with your future hubby.
Also, why would you and Mark decide and just you? Isn’t it something between both of you? Just like the wedding?
Brings back so many sweet memories of my wedding day.
Try to cherish all of those little moments that make it such a special occasion celebrating such a momentous occasion with all of your loved ones.
Those dads are so adorable. Hallmark card moments.
Made me tear up. I wish I had done a first look with my dad. Trying to remember the look on his face. I know he was really happy but the day is such a blur that I think you have a good idea….
These are so adorable and varied.
Even if your dad doesn’t show any emotion he is going to be one very proud papa.
