Rently I have posted quite a few stories about physio (what they call physical therapy here in England) and a few have reached out to ask what I am rehabbing – my knee has been a constant source of trouble for nearly a decade and mid-COVID had quite a few tests. I am not going go into too much detail today but my left knee is quite damaged but I am working with doctors to try fix it. It has been a few months and it likely will be a few more to isolate the cause of the paid and determine treatment ranging from non surgical to advanced hospital stays, and clearly I am trying to stay towards the former.
The reason I bring this up today is because I have been doing physical therapy and one of the top things I am working on is strengthening body parts that are not my knee. Specifically for me that is actually strengthening my hamstrings and glutes, who knew? Thus for the past two months I have been doing a number of traditional pilates exercises in my daily physical therapy routine as well as taking classes! I wanted to share today because if you are looking for something low impact, mat pilates is a great way to start, especially because of how much focus there is on core strength!
When working out, especially things like pilates, I need clothes that stay in place and that move and this LNDR lunar set fits the bill, it is seamless but also has a high compression waistband that supports with being restrictive. In terms of equipment I have been using these resistance loop bands as well as this mini exercise ball and sometimes wear these Non Skid Slip Sticky Grippers Socks and besides the exercises my physical therapist has given me, I have been following free classes on YouTube.

Do you do mat pilates?

You look so toned. You must be really proud of your hard work and it is really showing off.
You must feel really strong and healthy too. Way to go Kelly.

You are looking great. I am fooled with your knee issue. Hopefully you don’t have to have surgery to fix it. How did this happen. Was it an old injury from your past. Pilates does help strengthen the other areas around the knee. My exercise routine to keep thin is jogging, weight lifting and stomach crunches.

Doing my own version twice a week. I used an online service for a couple weeks and took notes. Trying to stay in shape during the virus while my gym is still closed.
Keep up the good work.

Cute work out outfit. Like that hue of blue and it especially looks good on you.
I love to do Pilates and it has been especially great to build up my core and I feel it when I am lifting heavy things. Gives me a lot of confidence and balance.

I do my own version of it but I don’t have a band like you do and I think that would be an awesome accessory to have.
The sides of my legs are hurting just looking at this photo but I bet it is really effective. Something too I could do while watching TV.. Good call Kelly.
