Hello, hello! I hope you are all having a great week! I have received a few emails and comments from you all that you really like my fashion round ups and that Sparkles and Shoes has had a bit too much travel content lately. As I have been mentioning for years, I love your feedback and while I still have a ton of travel content to share I am happy to share more fashion and trends with you all! Let’s start the Fashion and Style tag back up with one of my favorite trends of the season – peplum is back!
By definition peplum is a short section attached to the waistline of a blouse, jacket, or dress, so really anything goes. I have been a fan of the style for a while, first featuring it on the blog in the Spring of 2014 here, and it is definitely making a comeback! I have rounded up some of the tops, dresses, and peplum skirts that have caught my eye lately:
TED BAKER LONDON Ruffle Bubble Texture Top
Michelle Mason Peplum Skirt in Periwinkle
Rebecca Taylor Tilda Structured Blouse
Joie Shawnette Halter Neck Blouse in Kiss
Leal Daccarett Margot Midi Skirt with Peplum
Pepa Pombo Molly Dress in Ciruela/Fuchsia
PRIMA Sequin Scalloped Peplum Top
And then I know this piece is next level ridiculous with a price tag of almost two thousand dollars – $1,995.00 – but this black and white Brandon Maxwell Tuxedo Peplum Jacket speaks to me on a personal level. It is a structured Balmain jacket meets the kind of blazer I like to wear over my dresses to business meetings.
With all of these pieces I think you will believe me – this season, peplum is back, and I have rounded up the best tops, dresses, and skirts featuring this trend at a variety of price points. So tell me, what do you think of the trend and what do you want to see more of?

All of the outfits are so stylish but the last one the jacket is the best one. I love the sequin top too.
Sarah says
Ohhh, that black check skirt it to die for. What an entrance that outfit makes.
I have to have it. No one would mess with me when I walk in wearing that.
Fran says
My vote is the white blouse at the beginning…so flattering and can go with any of my outfits.
I find this style particularly flattering on me as I have a bit of a tummy and it takes the eye away from that spot.
