Dating Advice from the Millionaire Matchmaker

Last week I had the chance to attend the season two Million Dollar Matchmaker premiere in New York City.  I will be the first one to say that I called it Millionaire Matchmarker for the first hour of the event until I realized that was the name of the show from 2008 to 2015 while it was on Bravo – the show changed named and networks, now it is on WeTV and the party was for the second session of Million Dollar Matchmaker.  The evening was set up with the guests arriving, getting a drink, settling down to watch the episode with a quick intro by Patti, and the two guests of the evening Bachelorette alum Daniel Maguire and Bachelor in Paradise’s Vinny Ventiera.  Daniel and Vinny were the two eligible bachelors on the show premiering two days later and they were so nice in real life!

After watching the episode there was a Q and A followed by more drinks and time to take pictures with all of the famous famous in the room – from Patti and the bachelors to a handful of housewives.  When I got the chance to talk to Patti Stanger (which I was freaking out a little bit about) I asked her for a piece of dating advice – how do you get a guy to invite you to dinner, not just drinks>  She advised my friend Tara and I that drinks for the first date is fine and it is common “getting to know you ground” but the second date had better be dinner or it was time to move on!  Thanks for the advice, Patti!  

I had a great time at the Million Dollar Matchmaker Premiere!
