When I left New York City on Thursday morning it was near 90 degrees and when I landed it Miami it was not only cooler, but also raining. Thank goodness the weather cleared up a few hours later and for the remainder of the weekend our Miami bachelorette enjoyed glorious sunny weather and temperatures in the 80’s. I spent the better part of the last four days with nine other girls in South Beach and wanted to share a bit about the trip in case you weren’t following along on Snapchat and Instastories!
Our first planned activity on Thursday afternoon was getting to know you games as it was a mix of eight girls, in addition to the bride and I, from all different aspects of her life – childhood, high school, college, and post grad. From there we headed to a delicous tapas style dinner at Bâoli where the small plates were perfect for sharing and they had my favorite Summer drink, an Aperol Spritz. As the South Beach restaurant transitioned into more of a club vibe we headed to a spot two different friends had recommended, The Broken Shaker at the Freehand Hotel, where we enjoyed a giant punch bowl of rum, raspberry, citrus, sage, and bitters – delicious!
Friday was our biggest activity day – we woke up early, inhaled iced coffee, packed a ton of food, and Ubered to Key Biscayne, an island just South of Miami Beach, where we spent four glorious hours on the water and hanging out at a a sand bar on a boat. I am so glad we decided to rent a boat with a captain and even more pleased that the overcast sky that loomed over the city when we showed up almost immediately vanished as we were boarding. With a crazy day in the sun we did not have a big dinner, opting for pizza at home, but did make it out to a few hotspots and ending up at the rooftop of E11even.
Saturday morning was a bit … slow … to say the least but after quite a night the soul food at Yardbird was just what the doctor ordered. I split the Chicken ‘n’ Watermelon ‘n’ Waffles dish with the bride and the fried chicken, honey hot sauce, chilled spiced watermelon, vermont sharp cheddar cheese waffle, and bourbon maple syrup was quite literally, magical. Afterwards we walked to Ocean drive and lovingly plopped in lounge chairs on South Beach only getting up to take a dip in the water.
The group then headed back to the house in the early evening to get ready for another night on the town and with everything I had heard about Wynwood, I was not disappointed. Dinner at Wynwood Kitchen and Bar was not only reasonable but delicious and afterwards we really enjoyed our walk around the gorgeous Wywood Walls – giant murals from world famous artists! And while I know this sounds a little crazy I will be headed back to Miami on Friday and I am planning on spending a lot more time in this neighborhood for my next go around!
Nothing too exciting occurred on Sunday as we packed up the rental house and all headed home. It was a lovely weekend and I am so happy the weather cooperated! It was great getting to know the entire bridal party which will make the wedding in Mid July even more fun!! Happy bachelorette Kitty!
Have you ever been to a Miami Bachelorette?

Welcome back. Miami is such a fun place to visit. Looks like you had a blast there. Last Bachelorette party for me there was 7 years ago and it was so awesome. Nice to be in bikinis, cover ups, sundresses and flip-flops by day and short dresses and high heels by night. Did you go to the Clevelander Hotel to party one of the nights. When I am there I always end up there. Being that it’s May there how was the humidity there. Probably humid. I was there last month for Easter break to visit family and it was hot then with some humidity. Sure better than NYC weather. I love your red/pinkish dress with the pink bag and heels.

Ha, my boyfriend was just in Miami for a bachelor party last weekend! Despite living in Florida, I rarely make it down to Miami…but your pictures make me want to run down there ASAP. The east coast beaches are so different from the west coast and the Gulf. Looks like a fun (and beautiful!) time 🙂
