Now I’m not usually one to recap every weekend with a post but this was one for the books. Every September and February thousands of girls descend on New York City for Fashion Week and this year I have a side kick. for the past few days Samantha of The Samantha show has been in town and we have ben having a terrific time running around Manhattan and taking it all in. It is so much fun to have an out-of-towner with you as it makes you appreciate your city even more. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were all fashion filled and between the shows, presentations, meetings, dinners, and parties to say we are wiped is an understatement. (Oh, and I had a little thing called work, too) NYFW still goes for a few more days but I wanted to check in and show you a bit of what I have been up to when not at the office!
Thursday night was the Katie Gallagher presentation in Soho which was filled with a ton of black, orange, and sheer looks and gin cocktails. After the runway show the models stood in presentation and we took a ton of photos and then headed to dinner at one of my favorite Mexican spots, Calexico, before trekking back downtown in the snow to an opening night party at the D.L.
Friday was a busy day as well but I have so much to share we will gloss over that and go straight to Saturday and our visit to the Shop Style House in Chelsea where we got our hair touched up, sipped on rosé, got custom monogram folders from Gigi New York, enjoyed green juice, and borrowed a few pieces of clothing each to wear to shows or shoot in later in the week. Take a look at a few photos, some of which may look familiar if you have been following along on Snapchat or Insta Stories
From there it was a quick outfit change and then back downtown to the Mac Duggal show filled with dress after dress of ballgown perfect. The collection was beautiful with options for ladies of all sizes and I would not have likely noticed it but it was mentioned by another girl in the audience – one of the models was Raquel Pélissier who was Miss Haiti 2016 and the Runner Up to Miss Universe last year (the one Steve Harvey famously messed up) and she did a great job walking (shown clapping in the finale below)!
Sunday started with a brunch with more than 30 bloggers as part of Style Collective all in town for fashion week and I have never seen so many ladies in designer labels be that excited about bacon but I was happy to meet people on the same page as me! After brunch it was off to another show, Leanne Marshall, the winner of season 5 of Project Runway, who sent so many gorgeous looks down the runway! I hate to say it, but I was FAR too busy Snapping away and then my phone died so I don’t have any great photos of the show so I have used four from this online gallery to show you my favorite looks!
Believe it or not, there are events I didn’t include here like Friday night’s delicious dinner at Casa Notta with the Faviana team or last night’s incredible event at M. Gemi with their handcrafted Italian shoes but enough is enough for one day!
Have you ever been to fashion week?

Loved the back of the Katie Gallagher dress. I want the green Mac Duggal dress. I think I would feel like a Princess floating around in that stunning dress.
What a weekend you had, so jealous.
