In my opinion January is the coldest and dreariest month of the year. True, we are passed Black Monday but it is till freezing here in New York City and instead of exploring I am looking for inside activities. At the end of November I went a little crazy online shopping and definitely one of the best Black Friday purchases I made were three coloring books and an incredible set of colored pencils for a grand total of $24.
I chose the Magicfly 72 Colored Pencils Set which are watercolor pencils which seemed like a good place to start especially considering they had great reviews and were on sale and believe it or not two months later they still are – only $19.99! And then I got three books; Stress Relieving Animal Designs and it’s pair Stress Relief Coloring Book: Garden Designs, Mandalas, Animals, and Paisley Patterns and for the hell of it Art of Coloring: Disney Animals: 100 Images to Inspire Creativity and Relaxation.
Believe it or not, the Disney coloring book is not my favorite. I was so excited to get the chance to shade in my favorite characters from my childhood but this Simba page I ripped is actually the least detailed of any in the book – eek. Perhaps my query should have been “beginners coloring books,” these overly detailed designs are something to work up to I guess!
I was thrilled when I opened the tin the first time to see how many colors there were but then got even more excited when I realized you could lift up the tray and all of the vibrant colors were below. The picture below shows that the neons do not really color neon but instead a pretty rich pastel shade that has made for some pretty great drawings. And to answer the question I am sure with come, yes, adult coloring books are quite stress releasing as the titles suggest!
Do you have any any adult coloring books?

I don’t have any, but keep thinking about grabbing some.

I don’t but it seems like an inexpensive stress reliever while being creative. I will have to give it a try.
Thanks~
