Hello lovely Sparkles and Shoes readers, I’m still alive and checking in from the gorgeous Barcelona. I promised updates from abroad and I had a hard time picking my favorite photos to share with you from my first few days in Spain. If you have been following along on Instagram you may have seen a few of these but take this as your chance to see them on a large computer screen and view a few new ones.
My mom and I have had the most amazing time in Barcelona and the weather has been glorious, with temperatures between 68 and 72 degrees, exactly what you want when you are walking 10+ miles per day. We arrived Saturday at noon and since then it has been a whirlwind experience – like my trips Budapest, Vienna, and Prague I will be doing daily recaps once I’m back but in the meantime here are some of my favorite photos from our excursions thus far:
Ciutadella Park on the Barcelona City Bike Tour
With my mom outside la Basilica de la Sagrada Familia
Afternoon sunlight inside Sagrada Família
Inside Gaudí’s living room at Casa Batlló
Leaning out the window at Casa Batlló
On the roof of the Catedral de Barcelona
Hiking above Montserrat Monastery
Gaudí’s chimneys on the roof of Palau Güell
At the top of Montjuïc Castle
Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya
By the time you are reading this we will have visited the Gaudí Museum and Park Güell on our last day in this magical city and be on a flight to Madrid to see all the capital has in store. I will check back in in a few days but until then my Instagram or Snapchat, @kellydonlin, will be your two best sources for updates!
