I very rarely talk about men’s fashion on Sparkles and Shoes but now that award and red carpet season is over there is still one person on my mind, Eddie Redmayne. He looked absolutely terrific in Alexander McQueen at the Oscars and I have not seen a red carpet, movie premiere, or public appearance in the last three years where he has not wow-ed.
He did not take home the golden statue for his role inThe Danish Girl but did take home the highest honor last year form his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, a very well deserved honor. The best line I came across when doing research for this post was this article that said, “Despite his current success, Eddie – who first rose to prominence in 2012 BBC mini series Birdsong – initially struggled to be taken seriously as an actor due to his modeling career.”
Well there we go, he used to be a male model! It suddenly all makes sense, this is why he is so pretty and the excellent wardrobe is just a bonus on top of the superb acting skills! Here are my favorite looks include some dashing suits by Prada, Gucci, Hardy Amies, and of course Alexander McQueen:
I am going to England next month and I will be looking around every street corner for Eddie or my own version of an Eaton and Cambridge educated man like him. And if you are still new to the I love Eddie Redmayne train, take a look at these amazing modeling photos he did with Cara Delevine for Burberry. Simply devine.
What do you think of Eddie’s fashion?
