On Saturday afternoon while having a drink with Erin on the roof of the Met I had a total Gossip Girl moment and that made me bring this post to the top of the list. Serena van der Woodsen was my favorite GG star and now that the show is over I have to wait to see Blake Lively on one of her rare red carpet appearances. Sigh. She is just so freaking pretty.
I remember her from Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and thinking how the heck do the jeans look like that on her and still look good on America Ferrara? No way Jose. In the nine years since that movie came out Blake’s style just keeps getting better and better. Blake was on my best dressed list for both the 2013 and the 2014 Met Gala and the girl has not stopped.
And who could forget her Gucci gown from the 2013 Met Gala? (seen in this post)
Blake’s style is traditional and classic but with a modern and ultra glam twist. And then there is the sexy bombshell element … that too. The icing on the cake? She is her own stylist. Basically she is a 5’10 twenty-six year old fashion superhero who has graced three Vogue covers and took a spot on Time’s 100 Most Influential People list. Definitely a style icon.
And then, just because,Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in Gucci from the 2014 Met Gala – swoon!
In my next life I would like to be Blake Lively. Or just steal her clothes.
