When I was in Cape Cod earlier this summer for a long weekend we went to a friend’s house for a 4th of July picnic and when I popped into their powder room I immediately whipped out my phone. It was adorably decorated in pale beige and black toile, a pattern I have been a fan of for years, and everything just worked so well together. In a bigger space the bold paper would have been overwhelming but in the small room it was just perfect.
If you are a fan of Emily Schulman of Cupcakes and Cashmere, as I am, you might remember her powder room makeover from last February. She took a very small hall bathroom and made it into a gorgeous space even though she had the added difficulty of an an L-shaped nook. The transformation was incredible I love the large scale floral pattern she chose along with the gold accents. In addition to Emily’s powder room there are a handful of other bold options that I love, take a look:
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9
I live in a studio apartment that is completely tiled so going to town with pretty wall paper or an intricate mirror are out of the question – at least for now. However, I think transforming a powder room would be a fun decorating project, an opportunity for a big show of style in a small space!
