Lady in the Red Dress | Sparkles and Shoes

This past weekend one of my Georgetown swimming teammates got married in New Jersey and it was a wonderful way to spend Labor Day. She and her husband and a beautiful church ceremony and elaborate reception and I chose a beautiful red dress for the occasion. I had a black peplum number in mind but on Friday afternoon stopped by Rent the Runway, only a few blocks from my Chelsea office, to see if anything caught my eye.

I do not usually wear red but this dress really caught my eye. I could have gone a size smaller but as the wedding was less than 24 hours away I took what I could get and for $40 I think it was a great choice. Paired with my favorite nude leather pumps, a statement pair of earrings I also picked up at Rent the Runway, gold jewelry and a dramatic gold eye completely with false lashes I was ready to dance the night away!

I must admit, the photos above are some of the best outfit photos I think I have ever taken. Sure, I facet of it is that I am well on my way to my fitness goals but a large part of the credit is due to my friend Wes, he is in the photos below, and his secret talent as a fashion photographer.

I joked with him after looking at the photos on the LCD screen of my camera that his talent is not being put to full use as a officer in the U.S. Navy but as I look at them now, I think when he is done serving our country he should come work with me on Sparkles and Shoes.
