I love photography, between my own amateur attempts, professionals like Nick Brandt, and the fantastic participants of the National Geographic Contest, there are always pictures that intrigue me. A few weeks ago while doing research for another post I came across a handful of photographs that stopped me dead in my tracks.
Broken Mirror/Evening Sky is a series of images by New York photographer Bing Wright who captured sunsets’ reflections through shattered mirrors. At first I thought it was broken glass with the sunset distorted but still in front of the glass, you have to look for another few seconds to realize it is a tilted mirror reflection. The official photographs are super sized, roughly four feet by six feet, which must be breathtaking. Bing Wright has dozens of photographs on his website but my favorite are the ones he took of sunsets reflected through shattered mirrors. It is a collection of 16 photos and these are my six favorite:
All of these images can be found on his website and are part of the Broken Mirror/Evening Sky collection. I encourage you to visit and browse through some of his other images.
Which of these sunset photos is your favorite?
