The She Shed craze is still something I can not totally wrap my head around. Perhaps it is because I live in New York City and do not have a yard and thus no room for a shed. In case you have not heard of it, the trend is popping as a result of ladies being jealous of their husband’s man caves and wanting to have a place to call their own.
The reasons women have listed for wanting a she shed include a place to read in quiet, pottery, a place to write write, meditate, or drink some wine – it essence, a hideaway where they can escape. The Today Show featured one woman, Sandra Foster, last month who created a she shed in her Upstate New York home. She actually told the show that she built it, “to save my marriage and recharge my life,” along with sharing five tips to creating the perfect she shed.
Here are some interesting options found on Pinterest and the net of real she sheds:

What do you think of the trend?

I love the idea. You can make it as simple or as fancy as you wish. It does not have to be a hideaway just a peaceful place for yourself or to share with others. I plan to build one.

I haven’t heard of this trend until just now but honestly I’m not surprised by it at all — I feel like everyone is trying to make their homes/ lives look like something right out of Pintrest.. and now this includes a shed! I would love to have my own as a fun spot to getaway for everything in my home but it is a little bit over the top! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

since I don’t have a SO to “escape” from, I don’t know that mine would be considered a “she shed” but… I kind of want all of these.

I hadn’t even heard of this, so you are keeping me in the loop. I don’t feel the need for something like this, but then again I don’t really get man caves either. They are really pretty though!

I’d TOTALLY build one! They look like the perfect getaway. Imagine curling up with a book in one of those?!

I don’t know that I’d ever do it, but I love the idea of a little outdoor reading nook. (image 3)

Wow those are really pretty! But I guess I’ve never thought of needing my own separate space like that, Adam and I get along pretty well so I don’t usually feel the need to escape, lol!
