My Signature Lip Shades

 One of my unofficial 2014 goals was to find a great lip shade.  I have been an Aquaphor love for years and years but sometimes you really do need to step it up and a little color never hurt.  I have searched high and low for a color that would work well with my skin tone and that gave me the pop of color I envied on other girls.  I had no real guidelines and searched high and low for options, but unfortunately most of the drugstore kind did not pass the test.  Here are the ten I found:

From these I have worn each half a dozen times and with a combination of my thoughts, my friends input, and how it looks in photography I have found my four signature shades: 

(1) Clé de Peau Beauté Enriched Lip Luminizer in Fabulous Fig 

(2)  Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color in Mulberry

(3)  MAC Satin Lipstick in Captive

(4) NARS Lipstick in Dolce Vita  

One and four are now my go-to daytime shades perfect to swipe on before a meeting or to put the finishing touches on a brunch look.  The second and third colors are great evening shades and while I love the idea of a fire engine red lip, I have accepted it is not quite my shade and a deep berry is better with my skin tone.  I am so happy one of my 2014 goals has been completed, even if it is a few weeks late, and I have now have go-to shades!
