Award season is back and as my mom says when ever something is really good, HAPPY DANCE! I know there was an event last week, The People’s Choice Awards, but after seeing the first half of the red carpet I decided it was a pass. (If you are looking for a recap I think Style Bistro did a really great one here). Last night’s Golden Globes on the other hand? Swoon worthy.
This is my third year reporting on my favorites from the show – in case you missed them, check out my picks from the 2014 Golden Globes and the 2013 Golden Globes. I thought about live posting last night but I wanted to be sure not to miss any gorgeous dresses, plus, I absolutely love being the Monday Morning quarterback scoring the best Red Carpet looks. And of course, congratulations to the winners of the very coveted little statues, but the real winners are the ones who shown on the red carpet. These are my favorites:
Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Carolina Herrera
Amy Adams in Versace
(she also won Best Actress, congrats Amy)
Emma Stone in Lavin
Chrissy Teigen in Zuhair Murad
Helen Mirren in Dolce & Gabbana
Kate Hudson in Versace
Kate Beckinsale in Elie Saab
Jessica Chastain in Atelier Versace
Emily Blunt in Michael Kors
Katherine Heigl in Zac Posen
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad
Viola Davis in Donna Karan Atelier
Julia Goldani Telles
(I had no idea who she was before last night but this was too pretty not to include)
Diane Kruger in Emilia Wickstead
Congratulations to Kate Hudson and Amy Adams for making my Golden Globes Best Dressed list for the third year in a row! And I know this is being mean but there were some looks this year that I absolutely could not stand – either the dress on the hanger is just no bueno or it did nothing for their body.
Tiziana Rocca and Maggie Gyllenhaal
Lana Del Rey and Keira Knightley
Claire Danes and Melissa McCarthy
Zosia Mamet and Kate Mara
And as you may have seen on Twitter last night. I was unbelievably thrilled that Eddie Redmayne won the dramatic actor Golden Globe for ‘The Theory of Everything’. I mentioned in my Red Carpet Predictions post in December that I thought he was phenomenal in the movie and I am so happy he won – I hope he gets the nomination and takes home the Oscar as well!
Who was your favorite? Whose dress did you hate? Tell me!
Rachel says
I thought there were more “misses” than “hits” this year for sure. I hope the Oscars don’t disappoint me quite as much.

This is the first I’ve seen of the dresses from last night, since we didn’t watch. Kate Beckinsale and Diane Kruger NAILED IT. Gorgeous. Thanks for sharing!
Michael says
I think for the first time since you’ve been doing these I agree with every single choice! So in lust over Emma Stone and Kate Beckinsale’s choices.
Julia says
I love a lot of your picked looks. My favourite is Emma Stone and Kate Beckinsale!
Misty says
We agree on so many of these. I just love love love Emma’s look. Hudson and Beckinsale top my list too. I think JLo’s would have been perfect with a little less boob. She always looks amazing though.
I was so disappointed in Claire Danes. Lana Del Ray looks like a mermaid and not in a good way. Keira’s dress is also really unfortunate.
Alyssa says
I love Emily Blunt, too! Especially those cute braids. Annnnddd the lucky woman is married to John Krasinski. Sigh…
Angela says
Jennifer Lopez was the winner for me! Kiera knightly was a let down I thought her pregnancy style would be spot on but that dress just didn’t do it for me!!
Great post xx
