Happy Front Doors + A Giveaway

It’s Spring.  FINALLY!  It felt like it would never get here. I am in Columbus, Ohio right now where it certainly does not feel like it but the calendar does not lie.  While my wardrobe for the weekend is primarily black (hey, I have to let the future bride shine) I keep heading towards bright, happy colors.

In my current apartment my room is at the end of a long, dark hallway and to bring some happiness to the corridor I painted my door sky blue back in August.  It makes me smile every time I look at it and it made me think, I would want a bright door if I owned my own home.  And heck, why not make it the front door?

I t’s the first thing people see and apparently often falls by the wayside.  Sure hunter green classic green, fire engine red, and black are the been the defaults, that’s beginning to change but I would steer clear of those.  When I read a quote from Amy Wax, an architectural color consultant in New Jersey that said, “[people] realize the color of the front door introduces the world to the people inside, and it can be unexpected and playful,” I knew I wanted to write a post about it.   Here are some of my favorites (thanks Pinterest):
