Yesterday I was on the phone with one of my bosses who is currently in Florida. We were chatting about work things and ten minutes in he reminded me that Spring is coming soon. I laughed and said yeah, yeah, but as this first week of March is coming to an end I am starting to believe it. After the winter we have had (and I know many have had worse) I do not remember another time I have been more excited for the warm weather to arrive.
This spring I have decided I am going to cross quite a few things off my New York City bucket list. I live here for goodness sakes and have an unlimited metro card that will take me to every place listed below. I am starting to round up friends now and I am determined before July 4th (why that date, I don’t know, but I am sticking to it) I am going to cross each of these off my list.
I grew up in the suburbs of NYC so a few of these places I have visited before, like the Guggenheim on a fourth grade field trip, but now, I would like to experience as an adult. If I have not been in the past ten years, in my opinion, it doesn’t count should be on the list. Here are my top eight:

The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum
Shakespeare in the Park
Tenement Museum
MoMA | Museum of Modern Art
Walking Tour of Central Park Statues
Some are indoor and some are out. It is true you can visit a museum any time of the year but I have found this winter that is where the entire population of New York City goes on the weekends. I have one friend who swears by late weeknight visits or early weekend excursions – I am going to give it a try!
Yes, it is a long list but I think I can do all in the next four months!

If you want someone to go with, let me know! A few of these (Guggenheim, Intrepid, Met, Shakespeare) are of my to-do list as well!

Wow this is a good list! I have always wanted to visit NYC. I live near Los Angeles, and always forget about all the great sight seeing there is in my own city.

I’ve never been to New York, or the US for that matter – but I’d love to! I think a trip up there soon might be a nice way to spend our next vacation.

Great list! Need to add some of these to my own. You should check out MOMA PS1 too – they have some awesome outdoor events during Spring/Summer and the best exhibits too!

I want to do the MET thing too! I’ve never even gone once in the four years that I’ve been here. You’re totally allowed to slap me for that. But I heard the rooftop is gorgeous.
