In my teen years our homemade ornaments were unbelievably embarrassing. Any time friends were over I would have them steer clear of the tree – between the awkward photos and the very special art projects it totally ruined my attempt at a cool teenage perception. Now, I am so happy my mom kept them!
Since I went away to college I have not been part of decorate the tree but coming home for the holidays and seeing it in all it’s glory truly reminds me that it is Christmas – even if it is bathing suit weather outside. There were so many great ones to choose from but here are my ten favorite holiday ornaments, either made by my brother or I, a photo of my dad, or ones containing some decades old photograph!
They have a great place among the fancy ornaments on the tree! All together they may not cost a fraction of what a hand blown glass ornament goes for, but they are much more special to me!
Happy Happy and Merry Merry!
