The United Nations Ambassadors’ Ball

United Nations Ambassadors Ball Dasha Pryamitsyna Kelly DonlinOn Saturday night I went with a few friends to The United Nations Ambassadors’ Ball. The official invite read, “Please join us on Saturday November 23 from 7 – 12 PM for the Ambassadors’ Ball Junior Kickoff Party, hosted by the Junior Committee of the United Nations Hospitality Committee for Delegations.” The invitation said the event was a night of mingling with ambassadors, diplomats, and other young professionals. There was music, dancing, wine, beer, fois gras, and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Well, it was all of this and more!

The event was hosted at the Trump World Tower directly across from the United Nations World Headquarters in midtown Manhattan.  I had never been to the building but when I heard Derek Jeter was a resident I knew it had to be gorgeous.  It turns out the event had taken over the entire ground floor establishment, the World Bar.  Again, I had never been to this bar, but any place that is famous for a $50 cocktail – yes, that is right – five-zero, has to be good. (Just for reference it consists of Remy XO, Pineau des Charentes, Veuve Clicquot, and various other ingredients mixed at your table on a spotless silver tray—and crowned with a slick pool of 23-karat liquid gold.)

Now I am still a bit surprised that I was invited to this event as someone who works in advertising, but hey go with it.  I was proud to stand by my friend Peter who was decorated in his military medals at this function.

Before I go into a mini photo-barrage I must give credit to the photographer Miss Emily Waldorf. Thank you Emily for taking all of these wonderful photos and sending them along to me as you knew I was so eager to share them on my blog.  Befriending the photographer is always a great move at any event and Emily was one of the sweetest.

    Oh, oh I know this building! I remember a really nice cab driver pointing out landmarks to us on our ride back from the Staten Island ferry hub thing and that was one of the buildings. I would never have noticed and so grateful he pointed it out cos here I am today, knowing exactly where you are LOL!
