Monday I was gchatting with my friend Samantha and when she wrote, “I’m getting my hair cut tomorrow and I am thinking of going short” – my immediate reaction was PIXIE! Then I thought about who I was talking to and asked if she was thinking shoulder short or pixie. Her reaction was “oh **** (rhymes with duck) no, like between shoulder and chin i was thinking.” My response, oh, that makes sense. Then I started wondering, why did my mind immediately jump to pixie? Oh maybe because every celeb under the sun seams to have chopped off their hair in favor of this boyish do:
My hair has been about the same length plus or minus a few inches for the last ten years and I thought about what it would be like to make a major change. These celebs cut at least a foot off their once luscious locks.
My favorite part, the pixie thing is not actually a new thing. Audrey Hepburn had a pixie cut in the 1953 movie Roman Holiday so she could get a break from her royal duties as a princess. It is also interesting that at the time the cut was referred to as the bouffant, the flip, the poodle, and the artichoke – thank goodness “pixie” stuck.
There are countless celebs who have seem to make the chop but these six are my favorite:

I still can’t believe Pam Anderson cut all her hair off, but it looks great!

I don’t know if I could rock a pixie, but I definitely love the cut on those celebs. Emma Watson should totally be on that list though!

While I didn’t do a pixie cut, I did cut between 8-10 inches off of my hair yesterday. π

Nope, I am way attached to my hair, shoulder length is the shortest it’s ever been and that was in 5th grade. I get about 2 inches cut off – once a year. Some people can rock pixie, but I think everyone of those celebs, it makes them look older.
