The Holographic Trend

08/21/13 | Chanel, Fashion and Style, Marc Jacobs, shoes, Stella McCartney

Hologram clothes ruled the spring runways and they are easily transitioning into statement pieces as summer ticks on. This trend was big in the ’90s but now it is back a classy way to add drama.  When wearing hologram pieces keep the rest of the look simple and only wear one one holographic item at a time.

Turnlock Leather Bracelet  / Marc by Marc Jacobs Techno Wingman / ASOS Super Skinny Waist Belt
Chanel Nail Polish / Kill City Tracer Effects Junkie Shorts / Stella McCartney iPhone Case
Deena and Ozzy High-Top Sneaker / Holographic Studded Satchel / Aperlai Paris St Tropez Strap Sandals

What do you think of this trend? Would you accessorize in shiny metallic?

I think the clothes are a bit much but the accessories could be cute…I dunno. Might take me some time to warm up to this one!

I agree and I have waited to write about it to see if it would fade out but it looks like it is back with a vengeance!

I’m not sure how I feel about this trend yet. I really can’t see myself rocking it, but let’s be honest: I’m typically not the first one to jump on board any trend!

Today I am wearing a belt like this and I really kept the other pieces very simple and it looks nice.
