Wine Cork Crazy: My Frist Apartment DIY

07/12/13 | Brooklyn, City Living, DIY, Etsy, Pinterest, wine

Wine Cork DIY 1 Sparkles and Shoes As you all know I moved to Brooklyn a few weeks ago and my room is finally coming together! It has been a haven for many of the apartment’s cleaning products and living room paraphernalia but as the rooms will be done in a matter of days I finally have the space to put all of my belongings away!  I have wanted to do this DIY since I first saw it on Pinterest in August and in my new room I finally have the space to display it proudly.                                                                                                                                                                  The first step to completely this project was to find the “K” to do the art on. I purchased an adorable two foot wooden “K” from Etsy here but it took me and extremely long time to amass that many wine works!  I told my dad about this project and over the past few months he has been saving corks from all of his red bottles for me, as I only drink white wine!  After going home after fourth of July I came back to NYC with enough corks to get this project started!

I drastically underestimated how much time it would take to individually hot glue gun 184 wine corks to a piece of wood.  Thank goodness I had my newest Audible book tape to keep me entertained, I am only three hours into the new Dan Brown book “Inferno” and it is great! I highly recommend it!  It was a really fun project and I like mine much better than the original!

Cute! I always save about 10-15 corks with the goal of doing something and then I realize I’m saving them for nothing and toss them. Someday…
