Brooklyn Apartment Update

I know, I know I am long over due in giving you a glimpse at my new apartment but as all of the pieces came together I wanted to wait until everything arrived before I took photos. As I mentioned last week, my favorite things to photograph are flowers, quickly follower by friends and family. Interior shots are really not my thing, especially in rooms that only measure a few paces across, but I have tried my best. Here is a look at our living room and kitchen:

As I mentioned before, the space is small (the living room is 60 square feet and the kitchen is 92), but we really truly enjoy it!  The past month has been very interesting blending existing items the three of us brought to the apartment with new ones.  Here is a look at the big pieces you can find in our living room and where to purchase them, and of course, click to shop:

After looking at a dozen different options we decided on the Chatham Collection blue and ivory rug as the focal point of our living room and I love how it looks agains the dark wood.  The rug is framed with a beige adjustable back sofa with various throw pillows and a chevron blanket. On the opposite wall you can find our new wood and glass TV stand atop which rests our VIZIO 42-inch HDTV.  All of the artwork we had previously, and three of the photos are from my last trip to Venice, Italy which I have displayed in thin black frames.

KITCHEN
I brought the kitchen table from my old apartment and in the very small space having a drop leaf table is absolutely essential. Our kitchen cart with wheels is both decorative and useful for storage and cooking.  In the original plan, a large storage cabinet was not the part of the plan but after getting settled in we realized we needed more shelving.  Of course, I then collaged it.  The newest addition to our living space are those cute Anthropologie mojito dish towels in the second to last photo, a house warming present!
