After my cruise through the Norwegian Fjords my site seeing cruise dropped me off in Flåm, Norway. After walking around the small harbor town for ten minutes I decided to stow my bags at the tourism center and rent a bike to explore the fjord more at my own pace and then bike into the countryside, along the river, to see more of the beautiful waterfalls and quaint homes.
As you know from nearly all of my travel posts I try and live with as few regrets as possible, especially when I am in a new place but when the bike person asked if I wanted a regular bike or one with a motor I opted for a standard mountain bike. I thought with all of my Flywheel classes I would be fine but in retrospect I do wish I had paid the few crown extra and opted for the bike with the electric motor on the back so I could have explored more up the roads with the sheer cliffs.

After returning my bike I wandered more around the cute port and when I had asked for a map earlier in the day the robust gentleman at the tourism office he mentioned that the Belgian Waffles were the best food option so I decided to get one before I went off on the next leg of my journey.

After my waffle and a quick trip to buy a few postcards I boarded I boarded the Flam railway on an hour long journey to Myrdal. I was so thankful someone told me to sit on the right side of the car as that side had 70% of the waterfalls even if I did have to sit backwards. I was able to get some great shots and I was thankful we stopped for five minutes at the most famous and the Kjosfossen waterfall was definitely the highlight of my Flam Railway (Flåmsbana) journey.

Would you ever visit Flam Norway?
