For all my American readers I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving break! Everything was business as usual over here and to me one of the worst phrases to read in a news headline is “global recession”. Everywhere you look from gas prices to mortgage rates it is apparent but it seems I was not alone this past weekend in trying to remaining positive and still shopping for the holiday season. I posted more than a dozen gift guides earlier this month to provide some inspiration but I wanted to follow those up by sharing the things I actually purchased.
There were quite a few items from Nordstrom and J.Crew that I had my eye on but either they weren’t in stock by the time I went to purchase or I was unable to ship them to the UL. Sad face. But as I trying to keep Shoes & Shoes light and airy, these are my actual Black Friday purchases.
This year I picked up 10 items (at least that I will share today). Two items I bought for myself, just because, and the other eight are presents. Some are gifts for family, some friends, and some are gifts that I picked out for others to give me (not to subtle, am I?). I am not going to go into specifics on which gift is for who in case those people read this blog though I will tell you the adorable stuffed animal backpack is for my two year old niece, Violet. I know she will love it and she can’t read yet so we are safe there. Take a look at my Black Friday purchases:
______
Nixplay 10.1 inch Touch Screen Smart Digital Picture Frame with WiFi in Black Classic Matte – People take hundreds (or thousands) of pictures on their phones every year but I find that many people don’t do anything with them. I decided to get a loved one a digital photo frame this year and load it up with photos, I hope they like it!
Jellycat Huggady Dog Backpack in Beige – Jellycat is the top brand of stuffed animals here in the UK and while I know my nieces and nephews have loads I thought this one was truly unique. This is a combo stuffed animal that is a backpack for toddlers where they can put things in their tubby tummy and zip them up safely. I hope my niece who turns 3 in May will love it!
UYMO Crossbody Cell Phone Case for iPhone 14 Pro with Adjustable Necklace – If all goes well by next weekend I will be on holiday and I decided to get a lanyard phone case for my new iPhone. It has already arrived (thanks Amazon Prime) and fits my phone beautifully.
target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”MAC Step Bright Up Skinfinish Palette – I am usually a Sephora addict and stick to brands that they carry but this MAC palette was on sale at Saks as part of black Friday and it spoke to me on a personal level so a family member is graciously getting it for me.
Geox Women’s D Felicity D Boots – These are for me too: ). I have found GEOX boots extremely comfortable and yet stylist and wear mine at least once a week. These ones are a slightly different design than my current ones but since the cobbler said they were beyond fixable Mark kindly offered to get me a new pair.
UESWILL Marble Pattern Smooth Hard Shell Case for MacBook Pro – This is another one from me, for me, and that will not wait until next month. I am playing a little bit of a risky game still using my 2015 Macbook for all of my personal things (blog, life admin, etc.) and I want to do everything I can to make it last.
Rustic Charm Desk Calendar from Shutterfly – For the past five years I have made custom desk calendars every year and since they know they are coming I am not ruining the suprise by sharing that this year I ordered more.
Lululemon Swiftly Tech Long Sleeve Shirt 2.0 Race Length – I was surprised at how many great things Lululemon had a on sale this season and I find their training tops are just so breathable! Mark is getting me this for Christmas I also picked up a few other items as gifts but shh, I won’t share those for another month or so!
Chelsea Peers Curve Zebra Print Regular Long Pyjama Set, Navy – I’m a big fan of Winter PJs but they must be long sleeve, long trouser and breathable. Most of mine have button up fronts (like the one’s I got for my birthday) but I think these are a such a cute pattern that I picked them out from my Memé for Christmas!
Yay! Climber Dentelle fleurie, Perles de culture -Yes, the name of these is in French and it is not a brand just trying to be fancy these are actually from a Parisian jewelry store. They translate to Climber Floral lace with Cultured pearls and ever since my Mom got a pair in September during our France trip I have been lusting after them and one lucky lady in my life will be getting a pair for Christmas!
There you have it, 10 items that I bought during the epic sales last week. If you are interested I can also share a full list of the presents I gave people at the end of December once they have all been opened so please let me know!
What do you think of my Black Friday purchases?

Been looking for a pair of sharp boots now that it is getting cold enough for the jeans and boots look and these I think will fit the bill.
I have worn the ones I have now so much that they are starting to show the wear and tear and I don’t think I can pull off wearing them to work any more so I think I will splurge on these and save my old ones for the weekend wear.

I agree with you on those earrings. They’re really different. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that before. I look forward to seeing a post with you wearing them.
Looks like you had a lot of fun shopping and were very successful.

Love those photo gifts. So many of my friends have them and it’s a great way to display your favorite photos.
