I only finished unpacking from my Chicago trip last night and I realized next weekend I will be in Croatia, eek! It will be my first week long holiday of 2021 and I am THRILLED! However after a very chilly Summer in London I got thinking about all of the things I will need to pack for this warm weather trip and thus, put together today’s post on beach essentials. You will not see any of the larger items like towels, umbrellas, or chairs but here are some of the smaller items I am currently coveting:
Cover Ups
I have found the past few years Target has and I can see why x and y are the current best sellers – too cute! My favorites are the from their Xhilaration brand and this , such a cute cover up from Shade & Shore:
Beach Reads
I still have a few pages left of AShoe Dog but I know I will need at least one more, likely two. A few that have been recommended – by Wendy Wax (Paperback), by Chandler Baker and by Alyson Richman even though it was published more than a decade ago! All three of these, and any other option I will bring, will be the paper back versions because even though I am checking luggage weight will still likely be a consideration factor for my beach essentials. (And while was suggested it is not on the list as the release date is not until Apr 26, 2022.)
Swimsuits
While I really don’t need any I always think you could have more but I am going to hold off on buying anymore because to be honest, it is really not necessary. And I will certainly be packing these two Side Tie Bikini Swimsuits!
Sun Protection
Another one that will 100% be in my suitcase and `I recently stocked up. My tried and true straw sun hat will be in the bag along with a number of SPF items. All in all I will likely have half a dozen but they will include the Supergoop! Fusion Lip Balm Acai SPF 30 which I have recently became obsessed with and the EltaMD UV Clear Facial Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 which has been a go-to for years!

Enjoy your warm weather vacation. As someone who prefers warmer weather or at least a place with a real summer weather London would not be the place for me at all. My cousin had a job offer in Dublin several years back but she turned it down because of the crappy weather there all the time. She ended up staying in Florida. She said its nice to visit places like London and Dublin but not to live because of the lack of real summer weather. I love your choices for a beach vacation. Very fashionable. You just forgot flip-flops or wedge sandals and that green coverup you displayed for us last year. Looking great in those bikinis. Got a beach party ready for tomorrow and I can’t wait to slip into my floral bikini and tropical sundress. Family around so no micro bikinis.
