The third London Lockdown has had me turning to Amazon perhaps more than I ever have before. Not only are all stores closed here in London but for even the basic necessities the grocery stores are often low on stock and the freezing rain does not make a trip fun. And to be honest, I did a lot of my shopping on Amazon even in non-pandemic times. Here are my top Amazon finds from the start of 2021:
Onupgo Sweatband Headbands
As part of my attempt to not wash my hair every day I ordered a pack of these sweat wicking cotton headbands. They had great reviews that they were both non-slip and light-weight and after using them for two weeks, I agree. Th combination of cotton, spandex, and nylon makes them snug but comfortable for workouts and much easier to see on the bike!
Staedtler Color Pencils & Adult Coloring Book
I have known for years that color is a great stress reliever and the pattern of this book described as fun and easy felt like a good place to start. That paired with the two dozen colored vibrant pencils has been a fun night time activity while watching a movie.
EXQUI Padded Storage Ottoman Bench
For the first 10 months living in our apartment we had a small wooden table we used in front of the TV. While it worked for drinks you could not comfortably put your feet up on it so we decided to buy this padden bench. We nwo have a wooden tray on it so it suits both purposes – a soft foto rest and a safe place for beverages. The mid gray matches the color of the couches of our London flat and we have been loving it for the past few months.
Bamboo Wood Bath Tray
And this might be the best or the most ridiculous purchase, depending on how you look at it. I have loved baths for as long as I can remember and since my university days have found Epsom salt soaks a great way to recover post workout. Now I tend to add in a glass of wine and thanks to this new bath caddy, I can prop up my phone or position my computer to watch Sex and the City reruns or whatever else is suiting my fancy at the moment.
Iris & Lilly Women’s Flannel Pyjama Set
This is Amazon’s house brand of clothing and after a few purchases over the past year I have been quite impressed. These pjs are made of a soft brushed cotton and they are both very comfortable and very warm. I love that they are made of 100% Cotton and machine washable – thank goodness because I am not leaving the house these days.
Auranso Pom Pom Fluffy Keyring
I shared this mint green keychain last week on Instagram and it is ridiculous for a reason. IT is more than 3 inches in real life and has a very particular purpose – work sent me a security dongle the size of two matches and I am afraid I am going to loose it. Thus, I bought this big plus keyring to attach it to which should greatly reduce the changes of me loosing the security device!
GripGrab Classic No-Show Cycling Socks
After attending Catholic school for nearly a decade there are a few things that bring back instant PTSD and socks that cover my ankles are one of them. For years I had to have my ankle bone covered as part of my dress code and I really just hate tall socks. And yes, I understand the benefits of compression socks for athletics but I still can not get on board. Thus, when I came across these no-show performance socks for cycling I could not add them to cart fast enough!
TP-LINK Kasa Smart Plug
Similar to the bench I am not sure what took quite so long to come around to ordering these but after only four days I am not sure how we ever lived without them. These smart plugs work with Google Home and we now have lights in four rooms in our house set up with these and it is so nice to be able to to turn them on and off verbally. And in case you are in the market they also work with Amazon Alexa and Samsung SmartThings! The US version is currently on sale on Amazon as is the UK version!

I adore Amazon. The Prime feature is one of the best things ever invented and I definitely get my monies worth out of it.
Helps with gift giving too when I don’t have to pay for shipping.
They keep expanding their items too so I always look their first for my shopping needs.

So many great workout finds, Kelly! I recently purchased a set of dumbbells off of Amazon and I was pleasantly surprised with the quality! I also really like their selection and prices of arm and knee braces for when things are hurting me a bit.

That ottoman bench is terrific. Pretty, functional and my family would love to put their feet up on it when watching tv.
