You all know I have been in a lockdown mood of regorganzing the flat but I have stopped short of painting. That is for a few reasons, mainly because we rent the flat and would have to then paint it back to white before we leave and we have nowhere to move furniture or stay while in the process. However, that is not say you can not get inspired. In fact, many of you might because while this pin is more than four years old it still brings hundreds of you to Sparkles and Shoes per month. What surprises me is those snapshots scream Summer and I would expect Winter color palette ideas to be trending this time of year.
In August 2016 I published a post called Inspiring Ocean Color Palettes featuring the gorgeous designs of Jessica Colaluca, the power house behind Design Seeds and one of my favorite sources of inspiration. While these are gorgeous they are not quite seasonally relative so I wanted to share some of her latest Autumn and Winter designs that I have found particularly inspiring. However, after downloading quote a few beautiful Autumn ones I decided not to share them because while Winter does not officially start until the solstice on December 21st Fall seems like a distant memory. Thus, my favorite Winter color palette ideas:
Even though I said I was not going to paint our apartment these posts have me so inspired – maybe I could make a compromise and get new decorations. Something like a new cranberry comforter or new seasonal throw pillows? Or what about a velvet sofa like these ones from Anthropologie or this Cozy Pom Pom Sherpa Throw from Pottery Barn? Talk about swoon. Okay, let me stop there before I get a bit out of control.

I am looking to do my office in a warm red. I saw it at a friends house and have always wondered if I had the guts to do something like my friends.
This warm red that you feature might just do the trick, I certainly don’t want a fire engine red or bright red nail red just something warm and cozy.

I really like some of the green colors. Been thinking of doing my powder room in a soft color and will have to get some samples and try this out. Thanks for the kick in the … clearly an after the holiday project but inspiration to get going on it.

We have already had so much snow this year in Wisconsin that I am ready for Summer again but these images are beautiful.

I love the items that you put next to the color palette. You certainly have a good eye for color but that comes as no surprise. Will be decorating our new house shortly so these are some great suggestions.
